Our very own father and daughter super team! That’s what Tommy and Cheramie are here. Tommy has lived a life full of auctioneering, ticket writing, and being an honest to goodness cowboy. Tommy is so dedicated, he never even leaves the sale for a bathroom break! Even after the sale is over, he is in the parking lot socializing with the buyers. He has been with us for many years and we plan on keeping him many more!
Cheramie practically grew up at this stockyard, and now works here, too. She assists the buyers here in the office, as well as being able to join forces with her Dad writing tickets in the auctioneer box! She is a huge asset here in the office on sale days and keeps our staff smiling with her contagious personality! Congratulations to the dynamic duo for this month’s well deserved honor! You go Girl! (and Tommy).
Southeast MS Livestock currently has 40 employees. These range from part time auction workers to full time office workers and management. The adjoining café is run by their own management and utilizes approximately eight employees.
Management includes Joe Johnson, the Manager for Southeast MS Livestock, and Sherry Graham, Office Manager for Southeast MS Livestock. |
Joe Johnson, our Manager, currently resides in Purvis, Lamar County, of MS. He was hired as Manager of the stockyard in March 2006. Although relatively new to his position as Manager, he has brought a level of professionalism, efficiency, and personal attention to our business that has not been met before.
This concept of personal attention is shown in Joe's efforts to inform our patrons of what is happening during the auctions, as well as during the rest of the week. He has begun a "Manager's Message" which is available to our patrons after every Monday auction. Joe also spends most of the week traveling throughout the Southeast to area farmers and potential buyers. It is this extra personal attention that has been craved by our patrons for quite some time!

Our stock holders elect a member of the board to represent them and their home county. Currently, there are 14 members. Our Stockholder annual meeting is held in April of every year. Special meetings held for the stockholders of individual counties are arranged by that county's director.
